GUWAHATI: The Assam government will fill 35,000 vacancies by April next year, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday.

These include vacancies in the police force, grade 3 and grade 4 of the state government as well as teachers, he said.

"We are fully prepared to fill 35,000 government vacancies in a transparent manner by April 25," Sarma said on Twitter.

He said the recruitment examinations for Grade 3 and Grade 4 will be conducted from September in three stages - preliminary, main and oral examination.

The Chief Minister said that police recruitment will start in October and teacher recruitment will be notified soon.

Physical test for more than 6,400 posts of Assam Police will begin from October 3.

He said that the prelims for 7,500 Grade-3 posts will be held on September 15, 22 and 29, while for 4,500 Grade-4 posts will be held on October 20 and 27.

Sarma said that recruitment for more than 13,000 posts of teachers in elementary and secondary education will be notified soon.
