As per the latest instruction, although the last date of admission as per the first merit list was June 21, however, colleges can admit students till June 23.

The release of the second merit list was also postponed to June 24 and 25.

The colleges will release the merit list in two installments and students can take admission between June 26 and 28.

Spot admissions will start from June 29.

Students who fail to find names in the merit list can be admitted to colleges if there are vacant seats after two rounds of the admission process.

Meanwhile, each college has reserved at least 20 per cent seats for Common University Entrance Test (CUET) passed candidates. Admissions on these seats will also start after June 29.

In the three districts of Barak Valley, Hailakandi and Cachar largely affected by the second wave of floods in Assam, colleges have seen very low numbers of students so far.

A senior official of Karimganj district said many areas were submerged in flood water and students could not come out of their homes to take admission in colleges.
