The Chief Minister has mentioned in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari district that despite repeated instructions from his office to arrange simple vegetarian food during the cabinet meeting held in Nalbari on Thursday, the instructions were not followed.

CM Sarma, in his letter to DC Nalbari, said, "Rather, elaborate arrangements were made to serve lunch with too many items. I express extreme displeasure over such action on your part. Henceforth, Such instructions should be followed scrupulously."

According to sources, the lunch menu includes plain rice, jeera rice and pulao, mutton curry, special fish curry, fried fish, small fish cooked with ginger, mixed lentil soup, fried baby potatoes, fried brinjal. , included mashed potatoes with mustard. Oil, sesame chutney, pickle, sweet curd, gulab jamun, 22 other items.

Under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, cabinet meetings in Assam are held by rotation in different districts of the state.

The state government had earlier asked all the concerned Deputy Commissioners to make simple arrangements and not make grand arrangements for the visiting ministers.
