New Delhi [India], Taking aim at Home Minister Amit Shah's comment on Congress' election guarantee, party leader Priyanka Gandhi questioned about BJP's guarantee of providing Rs 15 lakh and 2 crore employment opportunities. Priyanka's statement comes after Amit Shah's statement to Congress. Electoral guarantees are called 'Chinese guarantees' on the basis of their durability. “I called it the ‘Chinese guarantee’ on the basis of durability. Those guarantees mean nothing. They say this during elections and then forget about it. I was in Telangana recently. The women there are still waiting for their Rs 12,000. The farmers there are waiting for loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh. This was Rahul Gandhi's promise. Why do I say those guarantees mean nothing, they say so during elections and then forget about it," Shah said in an interview with ANI on Wednesday. Referring to this, Priyanka said, "Ask Amit Shah where is that Rs 15 lakh and where is it?" That's 2 crore employment opportunities. What kind of guarantee was that sugar? When asked about Shah's statement in which he had claimed that BJP leader Dinesh Pratap Singh would defeat Rahul Gandhi in Rae Bareli, Priyanka said, "We will see it on May 20."''He said, ''Stature is made by the people of the country. This is not done by birth. What is the meaning of democracy? Dinesh Pratap Singh will defeat Rahul Gandhi,'' the Home Minister had said Congress on May 3 declared Rahul Gandhi as its candidate from Rae Bareli and his loyalist KL Sharma from Amethi, thereby eliminating Priyanka as well as Vadra from the electoral contest. Excluded is Rahul Gandhi, a sitting MP from Wayanad in Kerala, where he is seeking a new term from Rae Bareli. Rahul represented Amethi from 2004 to 2019. The Rae Bareli constituency is scheduled to go to polls in the fifth phase on 20 May in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He won the constituency by securing 5,34,918 votes, his nearest rival, Dinesh Pratap Singh, put up a tough challenge by securing 3,67,740 votes.
