New Delhi [India], People's Armwrestling Federation of India (PAFI) on Wednesday announced that India is set to host the Asian International Cup later this year. The tournament will be held in Mumbai from 19-26 October 2024.

The People's Arm Wrestling Federation of India will organize the event in collaboration with the World Arm Wrestling Federation (WAF) and the Asian Arm Wrestling Federation (AAF).

A total of 350-400 foreign talents and more than 800 arm wrestlers from India will participate in this prestigious tournament. The Asian International Cup will have the same categories as the Asian and World Championships and will feature athletes from 15 Asian countries.

People's Armwrestling Federation India (PAFI) President Preeti Jhangiani expressed her views on India hosting the Asian International Cup.

Preeti said, “It is a matter of great honor and pride for us for the People's Arm Wrestling Federation India (PAFI) to receive the mandate to host the prestigious Asian Arm Wrestling Cup. India will host an international arm wrestling tournament after a long gap " As quoted in a release from PAFI.

“Top athletes from over 15 Asian countries will be participating and this is a great opportunity for all our Indian athletes to compete in an international competition on their home turf! This event is part of our 5-year plan to grow Indian armwrestling To reach greater heights and showcase our athletes who have already started performing very well in international tournaments,” Preeti said.
