Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu's mother Ama Lejang died at a hospital here on Wednesday.
She was 75 years old.
Lesang, suffering from age-related illnesses, died at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences.
She was the wife of former Chief Minister Dorji Khandu.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and Arunachal Pradesh Deputy CM Chowna Min expressed condolences on Lejang's demise.
“My heartfelt condolences to my brother, his family and friends during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace,” Rijiju said in a post on X.
Mein expressed grief over Lesang's death, saying the pain of losing a mother cannot be expressed in words.
In a post on social media on her demise, the Assam CM also said, "Losing a mother is the biggest loss of one's life, which is impossible to compensate."
