Agartala (Tripura) [India], Around 100 sculptures designed by a team of Tripura artists are now being installed at various places in Varanasi city. It should be noted that Varanasi is a parliamentary constituency represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The sculptures were prepared in two phases under the supervision of Lalit Kala Akademi and NEZCC (North East Zone Culture Centre) respectively, this development came as a great inspiration for the artists. The second phase of the project located at Nazrul Kalakshetra affiliated to Lali Kala Academy, Tripura was jointly launched by the Railway Minister and the Ministry of Culture. Its objective was to recycle waste iron scrap and give it the shape of a sculpture.In addition, some marble decorated works were also made. Suman Majumdar, a renowned artist from Tripura was appointed the coordinator for this unique project. After consultations, it was decided that the North East Zone Culture Center (NEZCC) would monitor the entire project. Speaking exclusively to ANI, Suman Majumdar, project coordinator and board member of Lalit Kaal Academy, said, "Many of the sculptures are now in transit. The sculptures were made using fiber material and later paint was used to give the final shape. According to Majumdar, some of the projects were completed at the Lali Kala Academy center established here in Agartala, “One year has passed since the sculpture camp was organized as a part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign.30 to 35 sculptors participated in the national camps here. Another project was conducted on anonymous freedom fighters. freedom. In 50 schools, artists from Tripura painted murals on the theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Later, a painting camp was organized under which statues of unsung freedom fighters were prepared,” said Majumdar on the Varanasi beautification project. “In November and December, we conducted workshops for statues which were installed at various places. had to go. About 90 artists have worked in Tripura and more than 40 works have been created. Some of the notable creations created by the sculptors of Tripura include a sculpture of Nataraja, eight classical dance forms and a composition on the patriotic theme depicting men and women armed forces marching with the tricolor flying high. Sharing his experience, artist Pritam Debnath said, “A total of 100 sculptures were created here. We learned many new techniques.The subject that I worked on we worked related to dance and the iconic Ganga Aarti, we used techniques like clay modelling, plaster and fiber casting." Speaking to ANI, artist Kush Debnath said, "As an artist from Tripura I feel proud that we could contribute something in such a big place. We are very happy that your creations will get wide exposure in a city like Varanasi."
