The program has been launched in collaboration with Army Public School (APS) Jaipur and Saksham Sanchar Foundation.

Students and army wives will participate in the skill-based course started during summer vacations.

“AWWA in collaboration with APS and Saksham Sanchar Foundation has launched a three-month Media Masterclass program in which students and army wives will be empowered to become entrepreneurs, influencers, media persons etc.

“It aims to train students to learn stories related to arts, crafts, culture tourism, historical properties etc. Students are using mobiles but they can do wonders if they learn the art of mobile journalism."The aim is to give them direction to use mobile phones carefully and wisely," said Ravindra Nagar, spokesperson of Saksham Sanchar Foundation.

Besides, army wives and war widows can become influential and entrepreneurs in their native places and start earning without migrating, she said.

Around 400 students participated in the career counseling session held at Sapta Shakti Auditorium on May 9, out of which Saksham Sanchar Foundation dropped out around 6 students on Monday. In fact, 7 army wives have also been registered for this programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Gitanjali Behl, Chairperson Education, South Wester Command said, “Media education by Saksham Sanchar Foundation will help students choose their desired career in multiple fields and develop skills to shape their future.”

School principal Gayatri Kulshrestha said, “The National Education Policy is talking about skills and in the present times, skill-based education has become necessary.,

Dimple Arora, course coordinator of Saksham Sancha Foundation, said that students will be taught script writing, video making, story writing by veterans of the media field.

Arora said, “In the next phase, we will take this program to the interiors where widows and local students will be empowered by teaching them the art of storytelling."
