Gurugram: A 40-year-old army man was killed and his son sitting behind was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a private bus on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Police gave this information on Friday.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday night when the victim Sanjeet, a resident of Rathiwas village, was returning to his duty after a month's leave. His son had gone with him to drop him off.

When they reached the Delhi-Jaipur highway, a private bus coming from Jaipur hit their bike, seriously injuring Sanjeet and his son Vishant, police said.

He said that both of them were taken to the hospital where doctors declared Sanjeet dead and Vishant is undergoing treatment.

He told that after the accident the driver ran away with the vehicle.

Police said that based on the complaint of Sanjeet's family, an FIR has been registered at Bilaspur police station against the unknown driver under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

“We are searching for the accused bus driver. A senior police officer said, we have handed over the body to his family after postmortem.
