Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], According to an official press release, the Indian Army organized an ex-serviceman rally for veterans and Veer Naris (brave women) at Tawang Military Station on Sunday. The program began with floral tributes at the Tawang War Memorial, in which veterans paid tribute to the brave soldiers who were determined to save Tawang in the 1962 war.
The event was attended by more than 150 veterans, brave women and close relatives from all over Tawang who gathered to celebrate the day and take advantage of the arrangements made at the venue. Tawang Brigade and Station Headquarters, Tawang were contacted. Staff of record offices of various regiments to assist ex-servicemen in pension related issues, if any.
Other facilities provided at the venue include convenience centres/stalls set up by banks for pension account holders, Aadhaar Biometric Update Centre, Veteran Facilitation Center Tawang, Field Hospital Tawang, ECH Polyclinic, Agricultural Assistance, NCC Guidance Center and Army Awareness An Inspiration. The ex-servicemen made the most of the opportunity to avail welfare schemes/facilities, medical and dental treatment, financial advice and above all, to feel at home with the Tawang soldiers and express their love and gratitude by connecting with them on this special occasion. The program ended with congratulations. In recognition of the services rendered by the veterans and brave women, the guests were welcomed by the Station Commande and Acting DC Tawang.
