Brigadier SS Chopra Commandant ADC R&R apprised all the achievements and initiatives of ADC R&R to become a leading institute in dental education, research and patient care.
The dentists at the facility have made great achievements in dentistry by performing various specialist procedures such as cranioplasty; A surgical procedure that involves the repair or replacement of a flap of bone in the skull, often performed to correct defects in the skull caused by trauma, previous surgery, congenital abnormalities, TMJ arthroscopy; A minimally invasive procedure is used to diagnose and treat problems related to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which connects the jaw to the skull, and other complex surgeries, according to the release. The Dental Center also pioneered the use of Nitrous Oxide-Oxygen Minima Sedation for anxiolysis. And analgesia is a rehabilitation treatment during minor oral surgeries in all age groups in the armed forces. Notably, it is the only center in the armed forces to use Computer Aided Designing (CAD), and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) for manufacturing of prostheses using intraoral scanners.Patient-specific implants are routinely used here for the rehabilitation of maxillofacial defects. Additionally, the institute's library is RFID enabled with large digital access to periodicals and books. The “Major General RN Dogra Memorial Speech”, delivered by the stalwarts of dentistry every year to commemorate the foundation day of this prestigious institution, was delivered by Major General GK Thapliyal, (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut. “India That is Bharat”, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command also interacted with all ranks and appreciated the yeoman service provided by the Dental Centre. He urged all ranks to continue providing state-of-the-art specialized services.He cared for the soldiers, their families and veterans and encouraged all to continue working with the same professional enthusiasm.
