New Delhi [India], Army Chief General Manoj Pandey on Thursday flagged off the Indian Army D5 motorcycle operation from the National War Memorial in the national capital.

This campaign is being conducted by the Indian Army to commemorate the 25th anniversary of India's victory in the 1999 Kargil War.

"Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Pandey today flagged off the Indian Army D5 Motorcycle Operation from the National War Memorial, New Delhi. The operation is being conducted by the Indian Army to commemorate the 25th anniversary of India's victory in Kargil. 1999 war,” according to a Defense Ministry press release.

The flag off program was attended by Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, senior serving officers, Kargil war veterans, brave women and veterans. Before the flag off, the COAS interacted with the riders and handed over the motorcycle expedition flag to the team leader. During the program, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) President Archana Pandey honored the brave women.
