Deepika, who took maternity leave, has recently made a comeback and is doing well domestically and internationally. He had won a medal at Asia CU 2024 earlier this year.

On Sunday, the 29-year-old archer won a silver medal in the women's individual recurve event at the 2024 Archery World Cup Stage 1 after losing to world No. 2 Korean Lim Sih-yeon in the summit clash.

Apart from Deepika, archer Mrinal Chauhan has also been included in the top development group, while Praveen Jadhav has come from development to the core group.

During its 133rd meeting, the MOC inducted squash players Anahat Singh, Abha Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar into the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS Development Group) to help them prepare for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

In October 2023, the LA2028 Organizing Committee accepted the sport of squash for inclusion in the 2028 edition of the Games in Los Angeles.

"Given India's performance in squash over the past two decades, especially at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, the MOC decided to include three squash players in its TOPS Development Group, with the aim of giving them preparation for the global event. To provide necessary assistance,” the ministry release read.

Apart from this, para-powerlifter Ashok has also been included in the TOPS core group.
