Sagar (MP), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday assured support to the family members of Anjana Ahirwar, sister of Dalit youth Anjana Ahirwar, who died under mysterious circumstances two days ago in Sagar district.

The opposition party also demanded a CBI inquiry into "the suspicious death of Ahirwar and the murder of his uncle Rajendra and his brother Neeti Ahirwar alias Lalu" and alleged that "jungle raj" prevails in the BJP-ruled state.

Nitin was allegedly beaten to death by some people last August, while Rajendra died of injuries sustained in a clash on Saturday.

MP Congress President Jitu Patwari met the Ahirwar family in Barodi Nonagir village on Tuesday. He called Rahul Gandhi on his mobile phone and greeted the victim's brother.

Gandhi assured the victim's brother that Congress would provide all possible assistance to the Ahirwar family.Anjana Ahirwar had filed a case last August alleging that her brother was beaten to death by some people who were pressurizing him to compromise in a harassment case.

Police had said she died on Sunday after "falling" from an ambulance in Sagar that was carrying the body of her uncle Rajendra Ahirwar, who was allegedly beaten to death by some people on Saturday.

"A woman was molested, then her brother was murdered and later while seeking justice her uncle was also murdered. Her mother was stripped naked and paraded around the village and now the complainant woman has also been murdered This is the situation in Madhya Pradesh.“It seems like jungle raj prevails here,” Patwari alleged while speaking to reporters.

He alleged that the administration is in collusion with the murderers of the mother (Rajendra Ahirwar).

"Rahul Gandhi has just spoken to the family of the woman (Anjana Ahirwar). The Congress party will take this entire matter to the court along with the family members and will demand a CBI investigation. Congress will request for CBI through the court and the Chief Minister. Will investigate the entire incident,” Patwari said.This incident shows the serious condition of Dalits in Bundelkhand region where strongmen rule.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi hit out at the BJP over Anjan Ahirwar's death and said, "We will create a system where even the weakest will be able to speak out strongly against oppression."
