Anakapalle (Andhra Pradesh), A 26-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of a minor girl was found dead in a village in Anakapalle district on Thursday, police said.

Anakapalle district superintendent of police KV Murali Krishna said Suresh's body was found in KG Palem village around 7 am.

“Suresh's body was found just 700 meters away from the spot where he had murdered the minor girl. We suspect that he has committed suicide by drinking poisonous drink,” Krishna said.

Andhra Pradesh Police had launched a search for Suresh after he allegedly murdered a 14-year-old girl on Saturday evening.

According to sources, Suresh was in love with the girl and wanted to marry her. He also promised that he would wait for her until she came of age but her family rejected this proposal.

The girl's family had filed a complaint against Suresh in April, following which he was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and he was remanded.

However, he was released on bail and harbored a grudge against the girl for being responsible for his imprisonment and for rejecting his marriage proposal.
