New Delhi [India], Rocky Flintoff, son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, has been named in the Three Lions Under-19 squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.

At the age of 16, Rocky has impressed the Lancashire 2nd XI with his consistent performances this season. He made his debut for the team two days after his birthday. Rocky scored his first century against Warwickshire Second XI at Edgbaston in April.

Apart from Rocky, the Under-19 team has many family relations.The team will be captained by Essex all-rounder Luke Benkenstein. He is the son of Dale Benkenstein, the current head coach of Lancashire and former South African batsman.

Off-spinner Farhan Ahmed, brother of England spinner Rehan Ahmed, is also a part of the team. Earlier this week, he signed his first professional contract at Nottinghamshire.

Wicketkeeper batsman Hayden Mustard's father Phil had 12 white-ball caps for England.Of the 16-player squad, nine players appeared for England at the Under-19 World Cup. Ben McKinney, who led the English team in the tournament, has been left out along with Hamza Sheikh.

England men's under-19 coach, Mike Yardy, spoke about the team and was quoted in a statement released by the ECB as saying, "We have selected an exciting squad for the series, with a mix of some players who are currently Playing in the Vitality Blast and some young players for whom it will be their first time in the Under-19 team."

He said, “As always, this is a great opportunity for the players to showcase themselves in an England Under-19 shirt and experience international cricket.,
