Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Nara Lokesh on Monday assumed charge as the Minister for Human Resources, IT, Electronics and Real-Time Governance at the Secretariat in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

The sixteenth Andhra Pradesh Assembly began on Friday and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu along with Nara Lokesh and Nandamuri Balakrishna took oath as members.

Naidu had vowed in November 2021 that he would return to the Assembly only after becoming the Chief Minister. He was given a standing ovation when he reached the House as the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time.

TDP MLA G Butchaiah Choudhary presided over the proceedings as pro-term speaker.

The TDP supremo was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra along with her council of ministers on June 12.

Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday took charge as Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Environment, Forest, Science and Technology and Rural Water Supply.

TDP had contested Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections as well as Lok Sabha elections in partnership with BJP and Janasena Party.

The TDP-BJP-Janasena Party alliance registered a massive victory in the assembly as well as parliamentary elections.

TDP has 135 MLAs in Andhra Pradesh Assembly while Janasena Party has 21 and BJP has eight. The opposition YSR Congress Party has 11 MLAs.

On Saturday, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh organized 'Praja Darbar' at his residence in Undavalli. Lokesh launched "Praja Darbar" to directly interact with the people of his constituency Mangalagiri and address their grievances.

In a press release, the TDP had said that he would meet the local people every morning at his residence and listen to their problems and provide solutions.
