The Chief Secretary and DGP have also been asked to explain about the steps taken after the violence to prevent recurrence of violence as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the general elections is still in force, and the ECI has asked top officials. Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena said that the Election Commission has directed to register cases and arrest all those who damage EVMs during voting.

Following the ECI summons, the Chief Secretary met the DGP and ADG Intelligence to review the situation and take precautionary measures to prevent further violence.
