Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday welcomed the Union Cabinet's recent decision to accept the recommendations of a high-level committee for simultaneous elections.
On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the recommendations of the committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind on holding simultaneous elections across the country.
"We (TDP) are welcoming it (simultaneous elections). We wanted one nation one election from the beginning," Naidu told the ideologues.
Under the possibility of simultaneous elections, Naidu said the remaining time could be devoted to administration, development and welfare.
