New Delhi [India], Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital, where Andhra CM sought government support central in important issues related to the development of the state.

Furthermore, he congratulated Prime Minister Modi on assuming office as Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term and reiterated confidence in his leadership.

Andhra CM further stated that in this historic election, which saw an unprecedented victory of the NDA coalition, the people of Andhra Pradesh have emphatically reposed their trust in the NDA coalition government, thus giving both the leaders a significant mandate to fulfill your promises and commitments.

The CM further highlighted the fact that Andhra Pradesh continues to grapple with the repercussions of the unscientific, unjust and unjust bifurcation of 2014.

Furthermore, the miserable management of the previous administration, marked by malice, corruption and mismanagement, has dealt the State a more damaging blow than the bifurcation itself.

He drew the Prime Minister's attention to the following: The fiscal situation in Andhra Pradesh has deteriorated significantly due to the misadventures of the previous government and the absence of a long-term strategic development plan. Due to unproductive expenditures and fiscal hara-kiri marked by the exploitation of natural resources for personal use and the lack of focus on human resource development; Growth has plummeted, revenues have declined, and liabilities have peaked. The previous government did not pay attention to the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh as the trail of its poor governance is marked by huge unpaid liabilities and no investment in crucial infrastructure like the Polavaram project, water resources, roads and the capital city.

The two discussed steps that could be taken to meet the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The CM indicated that Andhra Pradesh remains severely constrained by lack of financial resources.

Committed expenditures, including salaries, pensions and debt service, exceed state revenues, leaving no fiscal room for productive capital investment, he said.

The situation has reached such a stalemate due to gross mismanagement of state finances by the previous government. Indiscriminate borrowing, marked by mortgaging of future excise revenues and pledging of government buildings, combined with large-scale diversion of money, has resulted in a situation of high public expectations and acute scarcity of resources. There is no other way to meet such a challenge except through financial control by the central government, he said.

He sought the cooperation of the Government of India to control state finances in the short term and government support for the commissioning of the important Polavaram National Irrigation Project.

CM Naidu further sought comprehensive financial support for the completion of the government complex and backbone infrastructure of the capital city of Amaravati and incentives for industrial development.

He further demanded that additional allocation be considered under the Special Assistance Scheme to States for Capital Investments, targeting essential sectors such as roads, bridges, irrigation and drinking water projects.

"Support to the backward regions of Andhra Pradesh under the Bundelkhand package and support to the State for development of Duggirajupatnam port," he said.

CM Naidu further said that the meeting was very positive and focused on positive outcomes for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
