Voting for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections started on Monday morning for 96 parliamentary seats in 10 states and union territories. Voting for all 175 seats of the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly also began along with the Lok Sabha elections. The ruling YSRCP is contesting all 175 seats for another term, while the TDP is contesting 14 assembly seats, the Jana Sena 21 and the BJP 10, part of a seat-sharing arrangement among NDA allies. Andhra Chief Minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan (Pulivendula), TDP supremo and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu (Kuppam), Janasena chief and actor Paava Kalyan (Pithapuram) are the major candidates for the assembly elections in the state. During the 2019 elections, the YSRCP registered a landslide victory in Andhra Pradesh, winning 151 of the 175 assembly seats and ousting the TD government. The 25 Lok Sabha seats where voting is taking place are, Amalapuram Anakapalle, Anantapur, Araku, Bapatla, Chittoor, Eluru, Guntur, Hindupur Cuddapah, Kakinada, Kurnool, Machilipatnam, Narasapuram, Narasaraopet, Nandyal Nellore, Ongole, Rajahmundry, Rajmet, Srikakulam. . Tirupati, Vizianagaram Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. Till now, till the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting on 283 parliamentary seats has been completed smoothly and peacefully.
