Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday participated in the first welfare pension distribution program of the new NDA government at Penumaka in Guntur district.

The NDA government of TDP, BJP and Janasena has launched a statewide welfare pension scheme named 'NTR Bharosa Social Pension', which has been increased to Rs 4,000 per month from Rs 3,000 per month provided during the previous YSRCP government.

Under the programme, the Chief Minister visited the house of a beneficiary and talked to the family members for some time and then handed over the pension amount to three beneficiaries with his own hands.

"I am sanctioning a house for you. We will build a house for you," Naidu told the beneficiary family and asked the district authorities to coordinate with Campus Area Development Authority (CRDA) officials to build houses for the eligible persons at Penumaka. Instructed. Area.

The state government began the process of distributing Rs 7,000 as pension to eligible beneficiaries, which includes an increased amount of Rs 1,000 for April, May and June as well as the Rs 4,000 pension for July.

The Rs 1,000 hike in monthly pension has increased the financial burden on the state government by Rs 819 crore, while similar hikes in the last three months have resulted in an additional burden of Rs 1,650 crore.

The southern state will disburse Rs 4,408 crore on welfare pension alone.

More than 65 lakh beneficiaries will benefit under 28 categories. The new government has also increased the pension for eligible specially abled persons from Rs 3,000 per month to Rs 6,000 per month.
