Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Anantnag district administration is making comprehensive preparations for pilgrims ahead of the Amarnath Yatra beginning on June 29.

Earlier on Saturday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually attended the Amarnath 'Pratham Puja' at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, marking the beginning of the annual Amarnath Yatra.

Through videoconference he expressed his dedication and support for the sacred path, emphasizing the importance of faith and unity.

Talking to ANI about the arrangements being made ahead of the Yatra, LG Manoj Sinha said, "From June 29, devotees across the country can have darshan of 'Baba Amarnath'...all arrangements have been made. necessary facilities for the devotees who come. Security measures have also been taken..."

Jammu Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain on Friday said he will ensure a smooth, safe and successful pilgrimage for devotees, adding that the police are reviewing the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra.

"We are reviewing the arrangements made for Amarnath Yatra. We will ensure implementation of cut-off timings so that the flow of that yatra to and from Jammu and Kashmir is smooth. More police and traffic police will be deployed on the roads that are under construction. "Jammu ADGP told ANI.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has taken important initiatives to make the Amarnath Yatra safe and comfortable for devotees. Last year, more than 4.5 lakh devotees took the holy darshan.

Shri Amarnath Yatra is a major annual pilgrimage for Hindus that will begin on June 29 and conclude on August 19 this year.

The Amarnath Yatra involves a challenging trek to the Amarnath cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. The yatra attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees every year, making safety a key concern.

The annual yatra, which lasts about 45 days, is a major concern of the government amid the recent terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

The administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims, amidst heightened security concerns and the challenging terrain of the route.
