NEW DELHI: Indian dairy giant Amul will sponsor the USA cricket team at the T2 World Cup in June, the country's cricket board announced on Thursday.

The United States will make its tournament debut as co-hosts starting on June 1. Part of the event, including the semi-finals and final, will take place in the Caribbean.

Amul was named the lead arm sponsor of the USA national team at an event in New York.

The first match of the World Cup will be played between America and Canada on June 1.

The globally recognized Indian dairy giant has previously sponsored several cricket teams, including the Netherlands. Amul milk is now being sold in America also.

The United States recently defeated Canada 4–0 in the bilateral series.

“Associating with an iconic brand like Amul inspires us to strive for excellence on and off the field,” said Venu Pisike, Chairman, USA Cricket.

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, Amul, said, "The goodness of Amul Milk will empower the USA Cricket Team to win hearts across the world. We wish the team all the best for the upcoming IC T20 World Cup 2024."
