AHMEDABAD: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday cast his vote at a polling booth in Ahmedabad under Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat and appealed to the voters to elect a stable government committed to making the country prosperous. Shah, the BJP candidate contesting to retain the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat, greeted his supporters, interacted with them and signed signatures as he reached the polling booth at a sub-station in Naranpur area here.



He was accompanied by his wife Sonal Shah, son Jai Shah and other family members and exercised his franchise.

After casting his vote, Amit Shah showed his inked finger and victory sign.



"I would like to appeal to all the voters across the country and the voters of Gujarat to enthusiastically participate in this celebration of democracy. Elect a stable government that is dedicated to making the country secure and prosperous that works for the welfare of the poor and India. Do." Pride,” the Union minister told reporters.



He also appealed to the people to elect a government which is against corruption and wants to eradicate poverty and make the country self-reliant and number one in the world in every field.



The BJP leader said that the trend of morning voting in Gujarat has been very encouraging.



He said he was confident that people would elect a government that would provide stability, security and free India from poverty.



He said, "I wish all the people of the country very good wishes on this festival of democracy. And I once again appeal to them to participate in this festival of democracy by voting enthusiastically."

After leaving the polling booth, the Union minister greeted people and walked to a nearby temple to offer prayers with his family members, part of the tradition he follows every polling day.
