New Delhi [India], Bharatiya Janata Party's national information and technology department in-charge Amit Malviya on Monday tendered an "unconditional apology" to RSS member Shantanu Sinha in connection with a "highly objectionable" post on Facebook.

Malviya, through his lawyer, sent a legal notice to Shantanu Sinha on June 8 asking him to remove the "false and defamatory" post and tender an unconditional apology.

“The nature of the allegations is extremely offensive, as they falsely allege sexual misconduct allegedly committed by my client. It is fatal to the dignity and reputation of my client, who is a public figure by virtue of his professional profile. “Such malicious malicious statements have been made deliberately to tarnish his reputation,” the notice said.,

Through the notice, Malviya alleged malpractice and malicious intent to malign and tarnish his image.

Sinha was asked to apologize and remove his post within three days from the date of the notice, which expires tomorrow. Further, it mentions that Malviya will take legal action against Sinha if he fails to respond to the notice.

“I, the undersigned, therefore call upon you to tender a public apology and remove/delete your defamatory statement made against my client on all public platforms within three (3) days of receipt of this legal notice, failing which My client will be bound to take appropriate legal action against you, including civil and criminal defamation prosecution at your risk and cost, in addition, I will recover from you Rs 10 crore as civil damages for mental harassment, agony and loss. "My client's reputation has been damaged by your Facebook post on June 7, 2024," the notice said.,

Meanwhile, Congress has demanded Malviya's removal from his post following Sinha's allegations.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Congress leader Supriya Shrinet said, "RSS member Shantanu Sinha, associated with BJP leader Rahul Sinha, has said that BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya is involved in nefarious activities. He is involved in sexual exploitation. Are." We want justice for women not only in 5-star hotels but also in BJP offices in West Bengal.

Shrinate said that an independent investigation into the incident is possible only if Malviya is removed from his post."The reality is that less than 24 hours after PM Modi took oath, serious allegations of sexual harassment have been made against a very prominent functionary of the BJP, the head of its IT cell. Today we call on Amit Malviya to step down immediately. Demand his removal from the post. This is a very serious situation and there cannot be any independent investigation unless he is removed from his post.
