The US also expressed its concerns about India's relations with Russia, which have been conveyed to New Delhi as part of a full and frank dialogue between the two sides.

The US said, "We would urge India, as we do with any country when interacting with Russia, to make clear that any resolution to the conflict in Ukraine will be respectful of the UN Charter and Ukraine's "Must be respectful of the territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ukraine." State Department spokesman Matthew Miller at the daily news briefing.

"India is a strategic partner with whom we have a full and frank dialogue. And that also includes our concerns about relations with Russia."

These discussions are ongoing and Miller said he was not aware whether any such decision was taken during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Russia.
