Kolkata, West Bengal CID officials on Thursday said it seems almost impossible to trace the trolley bag containing body parts of slain Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar as it has been 22 days since he went missing.

"It has been 22 days since she went missing. It seems that it will be almost impossible to trace the trolley bag. Nevertheless, our officers will continue the search... We will take a decision on this soon after speaking to the detectives." Bangladesh Police,” said an officer.

Despite the challenges, detectives continued to search for the body parts of the MLA in and around the New Town area. Police also plan to match fingerprints obtained from the New Town flat where the Bangladeshi MLA was murdered.

The search for the missing MP, who had reportedly arrived in Kolkata on May 12 for treatment, began after Gopal Biswas, a resident of North Kolkata's Baranagar and an acquaintance of the Bangladeshi politician, lodged a complaint with the local police on May 18.

On arrival, Anar stayed at Biswas's house. In his complaint, Biswas said that Anar had left his Baranagar residence on the afternoon of May 13 for a doctor's appointment and was expected to return for dinner. When the MP could not be contacted on May 17, Biswas lodged a missing complaint the next day.
