Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi said here on Monday that all parties in Maharashtra want Muslim votes in the Lok Sabha elections, but they have not fielded candidates from the community.

Addressing a rally at Amkhas Maidan, Owaisi also said that the parties have come together to ensure the defeat of his Aurangabad MP Imtiaz Jaleel.

He said, "Political parties are seeking votes of Muslims, but could not find candidates from the community for any of the 48 seats in Maharashtra. They are not worried about the results elsewhere, but the two Shiv Sena, Two NCPs and half the Congress are with them." Claimed.

Criticizing Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Chandrakant Khaire, the AIMIM chief said Khaire called himself a Hindutva leader, but he reached Eidgah after realizing the importance of (Muslim) voters.

"Those whose politics was earlier based on 'Khan or Baan' (Muslim or Hindu) are now talking about Namaz," he said.

Terming Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray as a "neo-secular", Owaisi said the former chief minister should clarify his stand regarding the Babri Masjid demolition whether it was a sin or not.
