Ramgarh (Jharkhand): Barkagaon MLA Amba Prasad's bodyguard and some others were injured in a clash between AJSU Party and Congress supporters during Ram Navami celebrations in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district on Thursday.
The Congress MLA alleged that AJSU party supporters insulted him and attacked his bodyguard and supporters. He claimed that BJP and AJSU party members politicized the religious event.
"They also snatched the mic from my hand. My bodyguard sustained injuries and has been referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi," he claimed.
In contrast, AJSU Party district president Dilip Dangi claimed that Amba Prasa and his supporters attempted to politicize the event.
Sub-divisional police officer Birendra Kumar Ram confirmed receiving a written complaint from Prasad, adding that while the investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made so far.
The officer-in-charge of Barkakana Chowki police station provided security to T Prasad after the clash, and an FIR was lodged against some people for attacking the MLA and his bodyguard.
