India will face Bangladesh (September 20) and Maldives (September 24) in Group A of the SAFF U17 Championship. The semi-finals will be played on 28 September, followed by the final on 30 September. All matches will be played at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu. The tournament will be streamed live on the Sportzwerkz YouTube channel.

The India U17 men's team is participating in two friendly matches against Indonesia in preparation for the upcoming SAFF Championship. After losing the first game 1–3, India bounced back and won the second game 1–0, after which the head coach praised the team's performance and claimed that the signs were promising.

"Overall, I am happy. After analyzing the first match we had a strategic discussion about the things that went wrong and what we could have done better. We matched them physically. Still, some mistakes were made But it's normal we play against such quality teams. Overall, our performance was much better in the second game. It's not easy to beat Indonesia at home," he said after the win.

The Blue Colts will leave for Thimphu from their base camp in Srinagar on Wednesday.
