AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad airport received a bomb threat through an email on Monday, which turned out to be a hoax after security personnel conducted a thorough search of the premises and found nothing suspicious, an official said.

Airport police station inspector SG Khambhala said nothing suspicious was found after the local police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel searched the premises of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport for over two hours.

He said that the search operation by teams of local police, CISF and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) lasted for two and a half hours.

The incident comes more than a month after Ahmedabad airport officials received a similar threat mail on May 12, but even then nothing suspicious was found.

On June 18, Gujarat's Vadodara airport was among several other airports in the country that received a bomb threat through an email that later turned out to be a hoax.
