Agra/New Delhi: The Income Tax Department has recovered "unaccounted" cash worth about Rs 57 crore in ongoing raids against some shopkeepers in Agra, official sources said on Monday.

The search was started on Saturday.

Cash worth around Rs 57 crore has so far been recovered during fresh raids on some shoe traders and their associated institutions in Agra. Sources said that the search is still going on.

On May 18, the day the income tax action was initiated, tax officials had recovered Rs 40 crore.

Sources said that these raids were conducted as part of the tax evasion investigation against the companies.
