Congress is contesting the elections in partnership with the Samajwadi Party and sharing seats with each other. As per the seat agreement between Samajwadi Party and Congress in Uttar Pradesh, Congress is contesting on 17 seats and Samajwadi Party has the remaining 63 seats in the electorally crucial state. In the 2019 general elections, the BJP emerged victorious, securing 62 seats. 8 seats in Uttar Pradesh, complemented by the two seats won by its ally Apna Da (S). Mayawati's BSP managed to secure 10 seats, while Akhilesh Yadav's S got five seats. In contrast, the Congress party won only one seat. Elections for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases starting from April 19. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
