Authorities have asked all field staff associated with emergencies like floods and floods to remain present at their duty places.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dullu held a meeting on Thursday to review the preparedness of various departments to deal with emergencies arising out of this situation.

The weather office has predicted that the situation will continue till April 3, after which the overall weather is likely to improve.

"April 28 and 29 will be generally cloudy with light to moderate rain/snowfall at most places (light snowfall at higher reaches) and thunderstorm/lightning/hail/storm at a few places on April 28 and 29," the weather department's advisory said. There is a possibility of winds and heavy rain. There is a possibility of rain at different places in Jammu and Kashmir. On April 30, there is a possibility of generally cloudy sky and light rain with thunder at many places.

“Farmers are advised to postpone agricultural operations till April 30. The weather department said, temporary disruption in traffic is possible in the higher reaches of Zojila, Sinthan Pass, Mughal Road Razdan Pass etc.

“Waterlogging in low-lying areas. Possibility of landslides and rock falls, temporary rise in water level in Jehlum and tributary rivers and other Loka streams and drains is expected,” the advisory said.
