New Delhi [India], After Amul, Mother Dairy has also announced an increase in its liquid milk prices by Rs 2 per liter across all operating markets in the country from June 03, 2024.

The new prices of Mother Dairy milk in Delhi-NCR will be Rs 68 per liter for full cream milk, Rs 56 per liter for toned milk and Rs 50 per liter for double-toned milk.

"Mother Dairy is increasing the prices of its liquid milk by Rs 2 per liter across all operating markets in the country with effect from June 03," the company said.

The price increase has been attributed to rising production costs over the past year. “The increase in consumer prices is primarily to compensate producers for increased production costs, which have been rising for more than a year,” the company said.,

Mother Dairy said its last price revision was in February 2023. Despite increases in milk procurement costs in recent months, consumer prices were maintained, but unprecedented heat stress across the country is expected to further impact milk production.

Earlier, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets milk and milk products under the Amul brand name, announced a price increase of about Rs 2 per liter for fresh sachet milk, from June 3. Will be effective in all markets.

Amul said an increase of Rs 2 per liter leads to a 3-4 per cent increase in MRP, which is below average food inflation. He also noted that there has been no increase in fresh pouch milk prices in major markets since February 2023.The price increase is due to increase in overall operating and milk production costs. Additionally, Amul noted that their member unions have increased farmers' prices by approximately 6-8 percent during the last year.

“Amul as a policy passes on approximately 80 paise of every rupee paid by consumers for milk and milk products to milk producers. The price revision will help our milk producers maintain remunerative milk prices and help them achieve higher milk production. "Will help to encourage." Referring to Amul's statement.
