GEORGETOWN [Guyana], Afghanistan fast bowler Fazalhaq Farooqui recorded the fourth best bowling spell in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup on Tuesday.

Farooqui achieved the feat during his team's game against Uganda in Guyana.

In the match, Farooqui took five wickets and gave only nine runs in his four overs. His economy rate was 2.20.

The best figures in the history of the T20 World Cup belong to former Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis, who took six wickets for just eight runs against Zimbabwe in 2012, followed by another Sri Lankan star Rangana who took five wickets for just three runs. Talking about the match, Uganda fielded Afghanistan first. Half-centuries from openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (76 runs in 45 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes) and Ibrahim Zadran (70 runs in 46 balls with the help of nine fours and one six) and a partnership of 154 runs between them helped Afghanistan. Reached 183/1.5 from their 20 overs, despite a late comeback from the Ugandan bowlers.

Brian Masaba (2/21) and Cosmas Kyvuta (2/25) were the top bowlers for Uganda.

Chasing the target of 184 runs, Uganda's Robinson Obuya (14) and Riyazat Ali Shah (11) were the only players to touch double figures as they were bundled out for just 58 runs in 16 overs.
