Kabul [Afghanistan], Khaama Press quoted local Taliban officials as saying that 20 people were killed when a boat capsized in Nangarhar, Afghanistan on Saturday.

According to the Taliban, five passengers aboard the boat have been rescued. The Taliban-appointed governor's office said the bodies of five victims had been recovered so far, Khaama Press reported.

There were 25 people on the boat, including women and children. Women and children are also included in the dead. The media office of the Taliban-appointed governor said in a statement that the "generator boat" sank around 7:30 a.m. (local time) on Saturday.

The incident took place in Basal area of ​​Mohmand Dara district of Nangarhar. Khama Press reports that authorities have so far found the bodies of five people and are searching for the remaining bodies.

According to the statement, emergency assistance teams from the Taliban-led Health Ministry and other authorities have been dispatched to the site to search for the bodies of the victims.
