Additional Director General of Police, Jammu, Anand Jain on Thursday visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital and inquired about the health of a policeman injured in firing in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.

Three terrorists suspected to be linked to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) organization were killed in an encounter that lasted over six hours on Wednesday in a forest area in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. A policeman was also injured in the firing.

Police officials said Jain visited the GMC hospital in Doda and inquired about the health condition of injured special grade constable Ashiq Hussain.

Hussain, posted as Personal Security Officer (PSO) at Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gandoh, was injured by bullet injuries in an encounter in Bhaderwah sector of Doda district on Wednesday.

Officials said the ADGP assured all possible help from the police department and best possible means of treatment at the GMC. Doctors were requested to take care of the injured.

The ADGP wished the constable a speedy recovery and assured him that he would be provided all possible help.
