North Sound [Antigua], Spinner Adam Zampa on Wednesday became the first Australian to take 100 wickets in T20Is.

Zampa achieved the elusive feat during Australia's clash against Namibia in the ongoing T20 World Cup at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Against Namibia, the 32-year-old took four wickets in the first innings of the match as he removed Zane Green, David Wiese, Ruben Trumpelman and Bernard Scholtz from the crease.

In the shortest format of cricket, Zampa has played 83 matches and 82 innings, taking 100 wickets at an economy rate of 7.20.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc is second in the charts with 76 wickets at an economy rate of 7.72 after playing 62 T20 matches.

Recalling the first innings of the match, Australia won the toss and sent Namibia to bat first in the match.

Michael van Lingen (10 runs off 10 balls, 2 fours) and Nicholas Devlin (2 runs off 7 balls) failed to give Namibia a useful start and could only manage an opening partnership of 14 runs.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus (36 off 43 balls, 4 fours and 1 six) was the only standout batsman among his teammates as he took his team to 72/10 in the first innings. The batting all-rounder was the highest run-scorer among his teammates as no other batsman could deliver a solid performance.

Zampa led the Australian bowling attack and took four wickets for 12 runs at an economy rate of 3.00 in his four-over spell. Hazlewood and Marcus Stoinis also took two wickets each in their respective spells. Pat Cummins and Pat Cummins also took one wicket each in the first innings.
