Bengaluru: The investigation into the murder of a man who allegedly made derogatory remarks against leading Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's friend and co-star has revealed shocking details.

According to police sources, Renukaswamy (33) faced the wrath of Darshan for making indecent remarks against Pavitra Gowda on his social media post.

He said, "Pavitra was the one who instigated Darshan to punish Renukaswamy. Accordingly, the plan was made."

Renukaswamy was a resident of Lakshmi Venkateswara Layout, Chitradurga and worked in a pharmacy company."Darshan involved the Chitradurga unit of Darshan fan club convener Raghavendra alias Raghu, who obtained all the information about Renukaswamy."

Renukaswamy's wife Sahana said that Raghavendra had picked up her husband near their house on Friday night.

Sources said the victim was kidnapped and taken to a shed in Bengaluru's Kamakshipalya area.

He said, “Darshan beat Renukaswamy with a belt. After he became unconscious, his associates beat him with sticks.Moreover, they threw her against a wall, which proved fatal,” he said, adding that she had multiple bone fractures all over her body.

After death, his body was thrown into a rain drain.

A food delivery boy saw the dogs eating a human body and informed the police.

While the police were working on the case, two accused approached the Kamakshipalya police and confessed to killing Renukaswamy over a financial dispute.

As the investigation progressed, the police came to know of Darshan and Pavitra's involvement.Darshan, his friend and film actress Pavitra Gowda and 11 others were arrested on Tuesday in connection with Renukaswamy's murder.

The 47-year-old actor has been sent to six days' police custody by a court.
