External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We received a request from the Government of Karnataka on May 21. On May 23, as per the Indian Passport Act, we initiated action to cancel the (diplomatic) passport of Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna.,
"On May 23, we issued them a show cause notice. They have to respond to the notice within 10 days. We are waiting for their response. Accordingly, we will take things forward after hearing from them or the 10-day period is over."
