Jammu: Dozens of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers observed a day-long fast here on Sunday to protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

The protest was held at a park in the city's posh Gandhi Nagar area, with participants accusing the BJP of implicating Kejriwal in a "false case" ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

"We have gathered here as part of the worldwide protest against the arrest of a sitting Chief Minister in a fabricated case at the behest of the ruling BJP," the spokesperson said. Protests demanding his immediate release are widespread not only in India but outside the country. It's also happening." AAP's Jammu and Kashmir unit Nirmal Mahana said.

He alleged that the BJP was deliberately targeting AAP, which has become a national party within a decade under Kejriwal's leadership, and that the BJ considers it a threat.

“Central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate are working like puppets in the hands of the BJP. There is not a single evidence against the AAP leaders who are in jail as there was no exchange of money, as is evident from the release of MP Sanjay Singh,'' he said.

He said that democracy and the Constitution are in danger under the BJP rule and we are together to show that dictatorship is not acceptable to the people of the country.

Senior AAP leader Agya Kaur said she ultimately believes in 'truth winning' as the BJP has been exposed before the people of the country.

“What is happening in the country in the name of fighting corruption? Anyone who joins BJP is cleared of all old charges, but those who stand against BJP's misgovernance are branded anti-national and corrupt. I **** power.
