AHMEDABAD: A tremor of magnitude 3.3 was recorded on Monday afternoon, with its epicenter in Gujarat's Kutch district, an Indian Seismological Research official said.

The ISR in its update said the epicenter of the earthquake was 10 km east north east (ENE) of Dudhai in Kutch district.

According to the ISR update, "It was recorded around 4:10 pm and was located at a depth of 30 kilometres. This is the third earthquake of more than magnitude 3 to hit the Saurashtra-Kutch region of the state so far this month."

There are no reports of injuries or damage to property so far, officials said.

According to information provided by Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority (GSDMA), earthquake risk is very high in the state, with nine major events occurring in the last 200 years.

The GSDMA said the earthquake that struck Kutch on January 26, 2001, measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale, was the third largest and second most destructive earthquake in the country in the last two centuries.

According to the GSDMA, the earthquake, whose epicenter was near Bhachau, killed 13,800 people and injured 1.67 lakh.
