Amethi (UP): A 45-year-old man was found dead inside his house in a village here, police said on Friday.

Piparpur Police Station Officer Ramraj Kushwaha said that Swami Prasad Kori was found in his house. He was alone in the house as his wife had gone to her parents' house with their children.

The station in-charge said that it is believed that Swami Prasad died three to four days ago. His neighbors informed the police after a foul smell came from his house.

The officer said the body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is underway.
