Mumbai: A 24-year-old man has been arrested from Rajasthan for allegedly duping a Mumbai resident of Rs 61,890 on the pretext of providing call girl services, a police officer said on Monday.

Kalachowki police station officer identified the accused as Mahendra Nathulal Patidar, from whom three mobile phones and nine SIM cards were recovered.

"When the victim searched on the internet for call girl service, Patidar contacted her and took Rs 61,890 by promising her to do so. Later, he started avoiding the victim's calls. CCTV footage of withdrawing money After the meeting, our investigation focused on Patidar. Based on technical information, the police team reached a village in Dungarpur, searched more than 70 hotels and arrested him,'' he said.

He has been charged with fraud and other offenses under Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act provisions, the official said.
