Palghar, Two days after a father-son duo committed suicide by lying in front of a suburban train near Bhayandar station here, police on Wednesday said they are yet to find any clue to establish the reason behind the extreme step.

According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the incident, captured on CCTV cameras, took place around 9.30 am on Monday, when a suburban train departed from Bhayandar station in Palghar district.

The footage shows a 33-year-old man and his father lying on the railway tracks holding each other as they watch the oncoming train, which passes over them.

Even after two days, the police have not been able to find out the reason due to which the father and son had to end their lives in this manner.

Bhagwan Dange, senior inspector of Vasai GRP, where the case of accidental death has been registered, said they are still investigating the case and have not found any clue.

The police have not found any suicide note from the incident spot or the house of the father and son, due to which the investigation team is in shock.

Dange said that he is hopeful that soon clues will be found and the case will be solved.
