Hyderabad, Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh has been booked for allegedly taking out a procession on Ram Navami without prior permission and creating a traffic jam. Police gave this information on Thursday.
The case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 29 (punishment for public nuisance).
The case was registered against the Goshamahal MLA on Wednesday following a complaint by a police sub-inspector deployed on settlement duty on the Ram Navami festival.
He criticized the Congress party, claiming that whenever it comes to power in the state, it indulges in indecent behavior against Hindus.
Raja Singh said that shops remained open all night during Ramzan but the police "did not remember the election code of conduct then".
