Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A "suspicious" bottle with a syringe was seized on Friday from a man who had come to take part in a police recruitment drive in Maharashtra's Beed, an official said.

They have been allowed to participate in the operation, but their outcome will be decided after the investigation report on this seizure comes, Beed Superintendent of Police Nandkumar Thakur told reporters.

"During the mandatory checking of the candidates' bags, we found a suspicious bottle with a syringe inside. Blood samples of the candidates have been taken. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials will investigate the matter. We will take action based on the findings. Will investigate,” the SP said.

17.76 candidates are participating in the recruitment drive across the state to fill 17,471 constable posts in Maharashtra Police. It started on 19th June.
