According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature exceeded 47 degrees Celsius in seven cities of the state on Thursday.

Jaipur Meteorological Center said that the heat will intensify in the next two days and the mercury will reduce slightly after May 28.

On the other hand, two people died due to scorching heat in Balotra.

Mularam (55) was working in the fields when his health deteriorated due to the heat. His family members took him to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead. Similarly, Mantu (22), who worked at a refinery company in the area, fell ill and was taken to a nearby hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead.

A 35-year-old man also died due to heat wave in Barmer.

There are also reports of deaths from Bhilwara and Jalore districts due to the scorching heat.

After Barmer, Phalodi recorded a maximum temperature of 48.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, followed by Fatehpur (47.6), Jaisalmer (47.5), Jodhpur (47.4), Jalore (47.3), Kota (47.2), Churu (47), Dungarpur. (46.8), Chittaurgarh (45.5), and Jaipur (44), among others.

Red alert has been issued in most parts of Rajasthan for the next three days.
